Rashmi Sawant, an Indian student, has been elected as the President of the Student Union of Oxford University, USA, one of the most prestigious universities in the world.

Rashmi Sawant of Karnataka had taken admission in Oxford University seven months ago after completing her mechanical engineering and at that time she did not even think that she would contest the election of the student union of this university and thousands of students would vote for her.

For the first time in the history of Oxford University, an Indian student has won the election. Rashminu says it is important to ensure that Indian students who want to study abroad do not lose sight of their goal once it is set.

Rashmi is currently pursuing an MSc in Energy Systems at Oxford University. Rashmi promoted the interest of students during the election campaign and did not get as many votes as the other three rivals combined.
