After Rajasthan, Bengal and Assam, now Nagaland has also made petrol-diesel cheaper

New Delhi, 23 February 2021 Tuesday

The skyrocketing prices of petrol and diesel are causing a stir among the people, though the Modi government has not given any indication of reduction in prices, but now the state governments have become active, with four states in the country viz., West Bengal, Meghalaya, Rajasthan and Assam Taxes have been reduced, now a new name Nagaland has also joined the list.

The Nagaland government has also reduced taxes to relieve people from rising petrol-diesel prices, tax rates on petrol and other motor spirits have been reduced from 29.80% to 25% per liter, i.e. from Rs 18.26 to Rs 16.04 per liter. The tax rate has been reduced from Rs 11.08 to Rs 10.51 per liter i.e. from 17.50% to 16.50% per liter.

It may be mentioned here that the central government has clearly refused to reduce the excise duty, the Modi government has increased the excise duty on petrol by Rs 13 and diesel by Rs 16.
