The director of the Wadia Institute of Himalayan Geology at Dehradun, Dr. According to Kalachand Sain, it is being investigated whether the glacier at Chamoli broke, avalanche or landslide or any internal lake broke. A team of scientists has reached the scene and based on the available facts, the institute will be able to reach a final conclusion in the next few days.

There is a lot of speculation based on preliminary information but a team of 5 scientists has been sent to Raini village to find out what the real situation is. The team has started collecting statistics from Raini village but no results have been reached yet. One or more of the reasons behind this whole incident may be responsible.

Snow is mostly frozen and hard during the winter so it is less likely to break. This type of accident is more likely to occur when the snow melts during the heat and monsoon. Glaciers are currently being researched but are having difficulty reaching higher glaciers. During the summer, scientists go to many glaciers and monitor them.

It is worth mentioning that most of the information about glaciers is obtained from the data obtained from satellites and there is a severe shortage of land data. Satellite imagery of Sunday's event is also under investigation. In the midst of all this, a team of scientists from the Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO) Chandigarh-based Snow and Avalanche Study Establishment (SASE) has reached Chamoli. The institute studies avalanches and works for the military.
