British Prime Minister Boris Jones has refused to attend the parade in Delhi on January 26, citing Corona as the chief guest.

In these circumstances, senior Congress leader Shashi Tharoor has questioned why the Republic Day celebrations could not be canceled this year if no one was present as the chief guest.

"Boris Johnson is not coming to India and we have a chief guest this time. If not, why not go one step further and cancel the ceremony ... The decision to call people for a parade this time in the midst of Corona's transition is not the right one," he said.
