What happened to the future of elections and open discussion in the party? Once again Kapil Sibal rained down on the Congress position

- Soniaji promised to reduce in a month

New Delhi Dated 18th January 2021 Monday

Kapil Sibal, a senior Congress leader and an ardent legislator, once again lamented the current state of the Congress party. He said that in the meeting held after 23 MPs wrote a letter to Sonia Gandhi, Soniaji had promised to reduce it within a month.

But months passed, and nothing happened. It is unknown at this time what he will do after leaving the post. Soniaji had promised to have an open discussion and bring a settlement within a month but that promise has not been fulfilled.

Kapil Sibal's concern is understandable as assembly elections in more than one state are scheduled for this year and in 2022. However, Kapil Sibal and other senior leaders believed that the current situation of the Congress was like an army without a commander.

In an interview to an English newspaper, Kapil Sibal also gave his opinion about the peasant movement. He said farmers should be legally protected about the minimum support price. Kapil Sibal believed that this was the only way to escape the movement. He said there was nothing wrong with farmers seeking minimum co-operation when industries get maximum co-operation.

Assembly elections are to be held in four states this year. "It is also imperative that the economy be viable at such a time," Kapil said. He alleged that whatever the Modi government does without thinking, it creates problems. At the time of note ban, at the time of GST, at the time of CAA law and now at the time of agriculture law, the caretaker government does not trust anyone. Moving forward by making a unilateral decision resulted in agitations and protests taking place.

Kapil Sibal was not present when Soniaji held a meeting with 23 correspondents. "Unfortunately I was traveling at the time but according to the information I received, there was an open discussion at the meeting and the party president (Sonia Gandhi) said that the party would have an internal election," he said. But now it seems that there is no clarity on when and how the election and the election of a new permanent president will take place.
