Union Minister Shripad Nayak's car crashes in Ankola, Karnataka: wife killed

Union Minister Shripad Nayak's car was involved in a serious accident in Ankola, Karnataka, but Nayak himself was injured. His wife died in the accident.

Shripad Nayak is currently undergoing treatment at the hospital and according to doctors, he was now out of danger. Karnataka's Haliyal MLA RV Deshpande took to Twitter to express his condolences over the death of Shripad Nayak's wife, citing an accident involving his car.

According to prima facie reports, the speed of the hero's Innova car was too high so the driver lost control of the car and the car fell off the road into a ditch. On learning of the accident, Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke to Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on the phone and asked him to make arrangements for Nayak to get the best treatment in Goa.
