This is the first time such an arrogant government has come to power in the country, which does not see the pain of food donors: Sonia Gandhi

New Delhi, 3 January 2021 Sunday

Criticizing the central government over the farmers' protest, Congress president Sonia Gandhi on Sunday said it was the first time since independence that such an arrogant government had come to power in the country.

In his speech, the Congress president said that governments and their leaders who neglect public sentiments in a democracy cannot rule for long, it is quite clear that the agitating earthlings will not give up against the current central government's policy of exhaustion and eviction.

Sonia Gandhi said there was still time for the Modi government to abandon the ego of power and immediately unconditionally repeal these three black laws and end the agitation of the farmers who were suffocating in the cold and rain.

More than 50 farmers have lost their lives so far due to the government's arrogant attitude, some have even committed suicide, but not a single word of consolation has come out of the mouths of PM Modi and his ministers.

He said the Modi government should remember that democracy was meant to protect the interests of the people and farmers and laborers.

Benefiting some industrialists is the main agenda of this government. It is worth mentioning here that while demanding the repeal of three agricultural laws, he alleged that these black laws will ruin the farmers, Congress is supporting this peasant movement.
