This is also a significant contribution to India's success. However, in view of the increasing competition at the international level, the Cricket Board has tightened the fitness norms for the entry of cricketers in Team India. According to the details received, the cricket board has now made a two-kilometer running trial mandatory for the players. Fast bowlers have to cover the same distance in 8 minutes and 15 seconds and batsmen and wicket keepers have to cover the same distance in 8 minutes and 30 seconds. This test will be mandatory for entry into the team.

According to an English newspaper report, players are currently required to pass a yo-yo test. Apart from this you have to go through a running trial. The new rule will apply to ODIs and T20s in the home series against England. Board Chairman Sourav Ganguly and Secretary Jai Shah have also given the green signal.

A new fitness test will also be required to qualify for the T20 World Cup. Players can play this test against the National Cricket Academy or a member of the team's strength and conditioning.
