New Delhi Dated 23rd January 2021 Saturday

The National Capital Regional Transport Corporation (NCRTC) has reportedly entered into an agreement with a French company to cover an area of 82 km between the capital New Delhi and Meerut through a rapid rail project.

This company called Certifer will help make the plan a reality by setting specific standards at every stage, from the design of the rapid rail to the running of the train. Only then will the rapid rail run. The project was expected to cost Rs 88 crore.

The 82-kilometer project will use world-class technology. NCRTC does not want to take any risk in terms of the country's first rapid rail project. The NCRTC also allocated a special budget to check the security details behind the scheme. The plan was to show a security certificate to tourists wishing to travel on the rapid rail.

However, in such a huge project, it is necessary to have a solid plan of security arrangements. This is known as the Independent Safety Assessment. The French certifier company has successfully conducted security checks on many of the world's rapid rail projects. Such countries include Italy, Belgium, Australia and Brazil. The security study of the rapid rail projects in these countries was done by the experts of the certification company.

However, the NCRTC had issued tenders to check the security of the project in which three of the world's top companies had submitted tenders. Until the last phase, the certifier company was at the forefront of all matters, so it was decided to hand over this responsibility to it.

This is the first rapid rail project in the country. When this is implemented, the travel time of the 82 km route between Delhi and Meerut will be significantly reduced. Currently the journey takes five to six hours.
