It is understandable that organizations like BJP, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh and Vishwa Hindu Parishad would contribute for the construction of the Ram temple in Ayodhya. But according to the latest information, the Congress party was also raising funds for the Ram temple.

Former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister and Madhya Pradesh Congress president Kamal Nath lauded the construction of the Ram temple in Ayodhya a month ago. Now, besides Kamal Nath, another senior Congress leader Digvijay Singh also hailed the Ram temple, saying that building a Ram temple in Ayodhya was the dream of our leader and Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi.

Rajiv Gandhi also ordered to unlock the Ram temple in Ayodhya. He wanted a nice Ram temple to be built in Ayodhya. That is why our workers were also raising funds for the Ram temple.

Madhya Pradesh Congress general secretary Vivek Khandelwal said, "We collected Rs 70,000 in just three days." Our fundraising campaign will continue until the end of January. We will then travel to Ayodhya and there hand over our contribution to the Ram Mandir Janmabhoomi Tirthkshetra Trust.

Khandelwal claimed that no one had asked us to collect contributions. I started this work on my personal responsibility. The Congress party allowed us to do this. Madhya Pradesh Congress president Kamal Nathji himself welcomed the Supreme Court verdict and offered prayers.

State Congress spokesperson Bhupendra Gupta said that like Vivek Khandelwal, everyone should contribute to the Ram temple. The Ram temple is ours and Lord Rama is our deity.
