Ghaziabad, Ta. 2 January 2020, Saturday

Farmers are sitting on a picket in protest of the agriculture bill implemented by the central government. Farmers have been sitting on the picket for about 38 days. Farmers are protesting even in such cold weather on the borders of the capital Delhi. So in this direction in Ghaziabad of Uttar Pradesh also a large number of farmers are gathering on the UP gut. The only demand of the agitating farmers is that the government withdraw this agriculture bill. In the midst of all this, one more farmer has given his life for the movement.

An elderly farmer on the UP gut in Ghaziabad has committed suicide by choking himself in a toilet on Saturday morning. When the cleaner reached the toilet, he saw the corpse of the farmer hanging. He went and informed the farmer leaders and later also informed the police. Police arrived at the scene and completed a preliminary investigation. A suicide note was also recovered from the deceased farmer, police said.

The farmer who committed suicide has been identified as Sardar Kashmir Singh and is said to be 70 years old. Kishan Singh was a resident of Rampur district in Uttar Pradesh and has been involved in the movement for a long time. Apart from this his son and grandson are also serving in the running anchor for the farmers.

He has written a suicide note in Punjabi. "They are saddened by the attitude of the government towards the peasant movement," he said. The government does not listen to the farmers. That is why I give my life so that there can be a solution to this problem. Apart from this, in this two-page suicide note, he has expressed his desire to perform his funeral on the spot.

In the last 24 hours, two farmers have been killed in a farmers' agitation on the UP border. On the other hand, the second meeting of the government with the farmers is to be held in two days. Then there is a good chance that this will have repercussions.
