Prime Minister Modi flagged off a double decker freight train, calling it a symbol of development

Prime Minister Narendra Modi flagged off the country's first double decker freight train. The double-decker goods train of the Rewari-Madar continent, known as the Western Dedicated Freight Corridor (WDFC), was hailed by the Prime Minister as a symbol of development.

This freight train is one and a half kilometers long in size and can carry a bubble container. That is why it was described as a double decker goods train. Addressing a video conference, the Prime Minister said that in the last few years, there have been actions that have been accelerating development in the country. We will not stop, we will continue to move in the direction of development.

With the start of the new year, we were working towards accelerating the development of a self-reliant India. Every Indian today has the same slogan, neither we will stop nor we will get tired.

He said that now the speed of freight trains was also being increased in the country. Earlier, freight trains were running at a speed of 25 to 30 kmph. Now she was running at a speed of 90 kilometers per hour.

He added that the corridor is not only a route for modern freight trains, but also a fast-growing corridor for the country. This corridor will bring immense benefits to the thriving local industries in dozens of districts of Haryana and Rajasthan.

The Prime Minister said that facilities like electricity-water-internet-paved roads-houses etc. were being provided to the youth of the country for their advancement. Now, like the Freight Corridor, the Economic and Defense Corridor will also be launched.

Talking about the past and present railway tours, the Prime Minister said that the earlier railway tours were a bit of a hassle. But now the focus was on the interior cleaning of the train, the speed of the train and the facilities of the passengers, starting from the booking.

In the last six years, huge investments have been made in new railway lines, widening of lines, electrification of railways, etc. In the near future, every capital of Northeast India will also be connected by rail
