Pakistan's involvement in the peasant movement will raise the issue with Joe Biden

Islamabad, Ta. 29 January 2021, Friday

Pakistan, which has repeatedly interfered in India's internal affairs, has now also intervened in the peasant movement. Pakistan's Parliamentary Committee on Foreign Affairs praised the demonstrations by farmers in Delhi and expressed support for Sikh farmers.

The committee told the government that Pakistan should take up the issue of human rights violations in India with the US government as well as in other international fora.

Pakistan's Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi was also present at the three-and-a-half-hour meeting. The committee told the government that the RSS in India is rooted in extremist ideology and needs to be exposed internationally.

January 26 was a black day for those protesting against the atrocities of the Modi government. Sikh farmers protested by waving their sacred flag at the Red Fort in New Delhi. We express our sympathy and condolences to the farmers who have lost their lives in this movement.

In India, more than 10,000 farmers committed suicide in the year 2019 and Muslims were targeted on religious grounds, the committee said. The issue of human rights violations by the Indian government should be raised by Pakistan before the United States and in other international fora.
