Pak Supreme Court acquits Daniel Pearl's killer

-America turned red-yellow- Think legal options

-Allegation of release at the behest of ISI and army

Islamabad / Washington Dated 29th January 2021 Friday

Pakistan's Supreme Court has ordered the release of Ahmed Umar Sheikh, the killer of US journalist Daniel Pearl. The ruling naturally offended America.

The verdict gave the impression that Sheikh had been released at the behest of Pakistan's notorious ISI and the Pakistani military. America wants to punish Sheikh for the murder of Daniel Pearl.

US State Department spokeswoman Jane Sackie said Pakistan should look into other legal options against the Supreme Court ruling. Saki said the victims of terrorism are all over the world.

Daniel Pearl, a South Asian journalist for the American media Wall Street Journal, was first abducted by terrorists in 2002 and then brutally murdered. The whole world slammed this heinous incident but Pakistan did not care.

Terrorist groups operating in Pakistan have lauded Sheikh's actions. However, as global pressure mounted later, Pakistan pretended to prosecute Ahmed Umar Sheikh. Ahmed Umar Sheikh's lawyer Mahmood Sheikh in the Supreme Court claimed that my client has been framed. He did not commit any crime.

Pakistan's Supreme Court has said it has found no evidence that Ahmed Umar Sheikh was involved in the killing of American journalist Daniel Pearl. Therefore, release it immediately. The Sindh government of Pakistan had appealed against the verdict for appearances, which was rejected by the Supreme Court.

Annoyed, the US said it appreciated Pakistan's efforts to nab Pearl's killer but that Pakistan should consider other legal options against the Supreme Court's ruling in the case.
