News Broadcasters Association (NBA) demands cancellation of Republic TV's IBF membership

- Revealed WhatsApp message is like treason

New Delhi Dated 19th January 2021 Tuesday

The News Broadcasters Association (NBA) demanded that the membership of the Republic TV channel be revoked from the membership of the Indian Broadcasting Foundation.

The WhatsApp conversation between Republic TV chief editor Arnab Goswami and former BARC chief Partho Dasgupta over the past few days has caused a sensation. This WhatsApp chat also included some important national issues. Mumbai Police was investigating various TV channels' attempts to increase TRP.

Arnab Goswami was also arrested. The Mumbai High Court had slammed various news channels, including Republic TV. The High Court had criticized the claims made by these channels to increase TRP. Now there was a demand by the National Broadcasters Association (NBA) that the membership of Republic TV should be revoked from the membership of the Indian Broadcasting Federation. Republic TV's conversation with Partho Dasgupta proves that Republic TV has been claiming to have more viewers for the last several months by manipulating ratings incorrectly and by Kavadava. Republic TV also advertised that other channels had less viewers. The NBA said WhatsApp chat was not limited to just rating changes. It also dealt with some sensitive issues in the country and interfered in the functioning of the central government. In those circumstances, allegations made by the NBA over the past four years prove that there was an illicit relationship between Bark's member and Republic TV and that he engaged in misconduct, such as antisocial activity, to prove that his viewers outnumbered others.
