Jugraj Singh's parents leave village after waving flag at Red Fort, grandfather changes statement

New Delhi, 28 January 2021, Thursday

During a tractor rally on January 26, a group of farmers broke into the Red Fort and waved religious flags there.

Amidst the dark repercussions of the incident across the country, the parents of Jugraj Singh, a young man from Taran-Taran village in Punjab, are now leaving home and going to their village.

Earlier, when the religious flag was hoisted on Republic Day, Jugraj Singh's grandfather was asked, "How do you feel?" He said, "It feels very good." Where and how it happened but my grandson comes from a member family and he has not given us a chance to complain till date.

Meanwhile, Jugraj's neighbors say that the police have carried out a number of raids here since January 26. Another resident of the village said that Jugraj's act was unfortunate but he may not know the consequences of hoisting the flag on the Red Fort in this manner. The act does not appear to be premeditated.
