If Trump does not attend Biden's inauguration

Washington, Ta. Saturday 9 January 2021

Incumbent President Donald Trump will not attend the swearing-in ceremony of newly elected US President Joe Biden on January 20.

After considering a smooth and orderly transfer of power, Trump tweeted that he would tell those who asked him that he would not attend the January 20 swearing-in ceremony.

The tradition of about 152 years is being broken in this way. As late as 1869, Andrew Johns, the 17th President of the United States, did not attend the swearing-in ceremony of his successor. Trump will then be the first president not to attend his successor's swearing-in ceremony.

However, Trump's rule has also been fraught with controversy. Thousands of Trump supporters stormed Capitol Hill on Thursday, January 7, after a provocative speech by the end of the regime.

Sabotaged all around. Four people, including a woman, were killed. This led to a 15-day curfew in Washington DC.

The violence drew worldwide criticism, with four former US presidents blaming Trump for the violence. At the time of writing, there were rumors that the 25th Amendment to the US Constitution, enacted in 1967, would expel Trump before his term expires. However, after the violence, Trump did not relent and apologized to the nation, saying that those who committed violence did not represent the United States.
