Government website calls POK an Azad Pradesh

- Withdrawal report withdrawn

New Delhi 13th January 2021 Wednesday

POKs are usually presented in the same form in government reports or documents. But recently POK was introduced on a government website as Azad Jammu and Kashmir. The report had to be withdrawn after the issue surfaced on social media.

POK was introduced on the website of the Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB) as Azad Jammu and Kashmir. During this period a flight of Vistara Airlines was going from Srinagar to Jammu. The pilot reported to the air traffic control tower that the plane did not have enough fuel in case of an emergency due to adverse weather.

AAIB then posted its report on the incident on its website. In the report, AAIB described POK as Azad Jammu and Kashmir. Controversy over the issue resurfaced on social media. AAIB withdrew the report after a brief respite. If the government website itself makes such a fuss about the issue of POK, then what is the point of a man. The important point here is that any flight from Srinagar to Jammu does not raise the question of passing through POK. In that sense, the report presented on this website was a serious error.

Both Srinagar and Jammu are an integral part of Indian Jammu and Kashmir. I.e. this was an internal movement. So where does the flight from Srinagar to Jammu cross the POK?
