Farmers will burn copies of agricultural laws today, even if they do not appear before a Supreme Court committee

- The movement lasted for 50 days

New Delhi 13th January 2021 Wednesday

Farmers, who have been protesting in the capital New Delhi for the past 50 days, today announced that they would burn copies of the new agriculture law framed by the central government.

The Supreme Court on Monday slammed the central government for announcing that it would suspend the implementation of the law until further notice. On the other hand, the Supreme Court had constituted a four-member committee to hear the views of the farmers, one of which is a farmer leader and the other three are agricultural experts. However, rumors were circulating that all four members of the committee were in favor of the new agricultural law, so the farmers did not take the committee seriously.

The farmers announced on Tuesday that they were ready to extend the agitation till Holi if needed. Our only demand is to repeal the new agricultural laws. But now this question seems to have become a thorn in the side of the center. It may seem to the central government that if we repeal one law under the pressure of one group, tomorrow another group will force another law to be repealed. That is why the central government had clearly stated that the law would not be repealed by any means. However, in certain circumstances, the Supreme Court may repeal the law. But that could lead to a serious clash between the central government and the Supreme Court.

One group believes that farmers should listen to the committee set up by the Supreme Court. By ignoring the Supreme Court, farmers will be like hitting an ax on their own feet. Even among the farmers, there was an impression of disagreement. There is an opinion that thousands of farmers on the border of Delhi eat twice a day, drink chapani in the morning and evening, mobile phone charging has been arranged, fiber tents have been set up to protect against the cold, so this movement is really convenient and the farmers themselves Understands At present, a group of farmers believe that the Modi government has got some relief from the Supreme Court order. The farmers also did not seem to have full faith in the Supreme Court committee.
