DCGI's approval on the use of covishield and covacin, said trials so far have been safe

Amid increasing transmission of corona virus, the Drug Controller General of India has approved the use of corona vaccine. The DCGI on Sunday officially announced the immediate use of Covishield and Covacin.

2 Emergency use of the vaccine

An expert committee on the corona vaccine has approved two vaccines for immediate use in the country in the last 48 hours. The committee approved Covishield on the first day of the year and Covacin on the second day. The vaccine will now be used in India after getting approval from the Drug Controller General of India.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted after the Drug Controller General of India approved the emergency use of the vaccine and declared it a day of pride for Indians.

Covacin is a complete indigenous vaccine

Covexin is entirely indigenous and is made by Bharat Biotech. The vaccine has been developed in a Hyderabad lab. Kovishield is a joint venture between Oxford and AstraZeneca and is being developed in India by the Serum Institute.

Dry runs were held across the country on Saturday

A kind of mock drill was conducted across the country on Saturday in connection with the vaccination process in the Kovid period. The vaccination process was dry run in 286 centers in 125 districts of the country. To monitor the preparations for the dry run in Delhi, Union Health Minister Dr. Harshvardhan was present. The vaccine will be given to health workers first. According to sources, emergency use of corona vaccine may start in the country from next week.
