Communication is always open, only one phone call between farmers and me: PM Modi

New delhi date. 30 January 2021, Saturday

An all-party meeting was held on Saturday under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. In this meeting, Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad, TMC MP Sudip Bandopadhyay, Shiv Sena MP Vinayak Raut and Akali Dal leader Balwinder Singh presented their parties on the issue of peasant agitation. On the other hand, Rajya Sabha MP RCP Singh, who represented the JDU in the meeting, supported the agriculture law.

In a video conferencing session on the budget session of Parliament, PM Modi lamented the desecration of a statue of Mahatma Gandhi in the United States. He further reminded that the proposal made to the farmers by the government on January 22 is still unchanged. The solution to the peasant movement can only be found through dialogue.

PM Modi told all party leaders at the meeting that the way for dialogue between farmers and the government is always open. “There is only a call distance between the farmers and me,” he said. All political parties were assured by the government that during the budget session the government is ready to discuss all issues including agricultural law.

Earlier, on the first day of the budget session, 20 political parties boycotted the President's address. Therefore, the government is trying to ensure that there is no debate in Parliament on the issue of farmers.
