Comedian who made indecent remarks on gods and goddesses was not granted bail

Stand-up comedian Munawwar Farooqi, who made indecent remarks on gods and goddesses, has been denied bail by a court.

The comedian was shocked at a show in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, for making derogatory remarks on gods and goddesses. Farooqi, the son of a BJP MLA, later lodged a complaint against him and was arrested by the police.

After hearing arguments from both the parties, the court rejected the bail pleas of Farooqi and Nalin Yadav, the organizers of the show. Meanwhile, the accused's lawyers said the allegations made by the police in the complaint were not clear. And the accused has spread animosity in the society by making indecent remarks.

Actors working as stand-up comedians are accustomed to creating controversy on Wednesday. One such comedian, Kunal Kamara, was recently charged with contempt of the Supreme Court.
