The Indian Army's road opening party was attacked this morning in the Anantnag area of ​​Jammu and Kashmir. The attack injured three Indian Army personnel, one of whom was critically injured.

A military spokesman said the militants had earlier hurled grenades at Jawano. Firing followed. Three Indian Army personnel were injured in the attack. The injury of one of them was serious.

Following the attack, security forces blocked traffic on the Srinagar-Jammu National Highway near the site of the attack.

The militants further said that the militants had planted an improvised explosive device (IED) on the wall of a school on the Srinagar-Jammu National Highway to attack the army's road opening party. As soon as the army personnel reached the school, the IED was detonated by remote control and fired at the same time. The militants then fled.
