New Delhi, 24 January 2021, Sunday

The political temperature in Bengal is rising steadily. Both the BJP and Mamata Banerjee's party TMC are dying before the Assembly elections.

Yesterday, PM Modi was in Kolkata and in the coming days, Amit Shah will be touring West Bengal again. It is learned that Amit Shah will soon be visiting his home to meet former India captain and Cricket Board chairman Sourav Ganguly.

Amit Shah is scheduled to return to Bengal later this month and according to media reports, Amit Shah may meet Sourav Ganguly during the two-day trip. Recently, Sourav Ganguly underwent angioplasty after suffering a heart attack.

Though there has been talk for a long time that Ganguly will join the BJP. Though Ganguly has never spoken openly on the matter, speculations have resurfaced following a possible visit by Amit Shah.

When Ganguly was recently admitted to the hospital, senior TMC and BJP leaders, including Mamata Banerjee, rushed to inquire about him. In these circumstances, it remains to be seen whether Sourav Ganguly will start the political innings.
