While there is no discussion of agriculture in Delhi, the government withdraws three laws: Pawar

Former Union Agriculture Minister and NCP chief Sharad Pawar slammed the three black agriculture laws enacted at the Center without discussing them with the states and said that agriculture should not be discussed in Delhi as farmers work hard in the sun to grow food grains.

Pawar also criticized the government for ignoring the 32nd day of agitation on the Delhi border. He also criticized the three-member team that Modi has formed to negotiate with farmers, saying that those who have ample knowledge of agriculture should be sent for talks.

The government needs to take this movement seriously. It is inappropriate to blame the opposition for the movement. If the government does not come up with a solution in talks with 40 farmers' organizations, the opposition will decide on the next steps on Wednesday. "I wanted to make some reforms when I was the agriculture minister myself, but not in the way the Modi government is doing.

Asked why he did not make reforms when he was also the agriculture minister, Pawar told a news agency. "The reforms were different from the current ones," he said. "Before the reforms, I consulted with all the state governments."

I did not make a new law until their objections were removed. "Manmohan Singh and I wanted some reforms in agriculture, but not in the way they are being done now. "We have consulted with agriculture ministers, experts and farmers' organizations from all the states," Pawar said.
