New Delhi, Dec. 11, 2020, Friday

At present, no country in the world is comparable to the United States in manufacturing and selling sophisticated weapons. India is also becoming a major customer of the United States.

However, the Indian government is pushing for home-made weapons, not least in a case called Ulti Ganga, in which the Indian government has offered to sell its indigenous fighter jet Tejas to the United States.

The thing is, the US Navy needs trainer jets to train novice pilots under the undergraduate jet training system. With the US Navy issuing a global tender for this, India has a quick opportunity to sell its indigenous Jet Tejas to the US. Jet has offered to sell.

In this offer, India has mentioned the merits of Tejas aircraft. According to an English newspaper report, India is also ready to change some features of Tejas aircraft as per US requirement so that pilots can get advanced training. India has offered MK 1A version of Tejas aircraft.

If it goes ahead, India will formally send a request for proposal. One of the reasons for India's offer to the US is that the above version of the Tejas can also be operated from an aircraft carrier. The Tejas falls into the category of light combat aircraft. One feature is that it requires very little space for takeoff and landing.
