The new law will provide protection to MSPs and farmers will have another option: Modi government

New Delhi, Dt. 2 December 2020, Wednesday

It has been a week since the farmers' agitation against the Agriculture Act. While the farmers are sitting on the Delhi border, Modi government minister Ravi Shankar Prasad has clarified some of the new law and said that the new law is not anti-farmer in any way.

Ravi Shankar Prasad said that reversing the new law of Modi government will give more power to the farmers. Under this bill, the protection of MSP i.e. minimum support price is to be given to the farmers but at the same time the farmers will get another option.

"The law is being propagated as anti-farmer. In fact, the farmer will have the protection of the MSP, but farmers will be able to earn more by making direct deals with food production and processing companies," Prasad said.

It may be mentioned that the Modi government is to hold talks with the farmers on December 3, i.e. tomorrow and before that the government has also sought the suggestions of the farmers today. On the other hand, a large number of new farmers are also joining the farmers' movement every day.
