The Sensex and Nifty set records for the fifth day in a row as the stock market remained bullish amid a flurry of sell-offs on the back of lucrative sell-offs against new entrants from foreign investors.
The Sensex rose intra-day and touched a new all-time high of 47714.55 on fresh buying by foreign investors, following a strong tone at the Bombay Stock Exchange today on the back of various favorable factors, both local and global.
In addition, the Sensex bounced back to a new high of 47613.08, up 259.33 points after the market bounced back from a high of 47361 on the back of lucrative selling pressure.
The Nifty rose intra-day to close at 14000 and touched an all-time high of 13967.60 after a strong tone at NSE.
The stock closed 59.40 points higher at a record high of 13932.60. Investors' wealth (BSE market cap) rose to Rs. 187.23 lakh crore. Foreign investors today raised Rs. 2350 crore.
