Khap panchayat threatens to stop supply of milk, fruits and vegetables to Delhi

New Delhi, Dt. 2 December 2020, Wednesday

The plight of millions of Delhiites has been exacerbated by farmers camping on Delhi's borders protesting against the government's agricultural laws.

In support of the farmers' movement, Haryana's khap panchayats have said that if there is no compromise in the December 3 talks, the supply of milk, fruits and vegetables in Delhi will be cut off.

Khap panchayats have also called for a march to Delhi. Farmer leaders are going from house to house appealing to people to go to Delhi. On the other hand, the Noida-Greater Noida Expressway has been jammed following protests by farmers on the roads to Noida and Delhi. A large number of police personnel have been killed in the incident.

Farmers are already stationed on the Delhi border. Food is also being supplied to them so that the agitation can be prolonged. A number of villages in Punjab have been evacuated as farmers have reached the Delhi border to protest.
