A Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen militant hiding in the Birbhumi area of West Bengal was nabbed by a special investigative team.

For some time now, the opposition, especially the BJP, the Trinamool Congress and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, have been alleging that they are illegally harboring Bangladeshi Muslims.

West Bengal Assembly elections will be held in April next year. There have also been allegations that Mamata is allowing illegal immigrants to settle in order to maintain her votebank. At the same time, there have been frequent attacks on BJP leaders. Just two days ago, BJP president JP Nadda's car convoy was stoned.

In this context, the news of a terrorist caught with a weapon remains important.
