India produced 60 million PPE kits, 150 million N95 masks in seven months

The number of Koro infections in the country has crossed 98 lakh. To control the corona, the government is constantly urging the people to follow the mask and the corona protocol.

The country also saw a shortage of PPE kits and masks during this period. Addressing a program on self-reliant India through video conferencing, Union Textiles Minister Smriti Irani said that India has produced more than 60 million Personal Equipment (PPE) and 150 million N95 masks in just seven months.

India produced more than 60 million PPEs and 150 million N95 masks from March to October, the Union Minister said. We have exported over 2 crore PPE suits and 4 crore masks so far.

He said that till March, there was no company manufacturing PPE suits in India and today more than 11,000 companies are making safety devices. Thus only two companies were making N95 masks in March, today more than 200 companies are engaged in this work.
