In the wake of the Karnataka Legislative Council meeting, a Congress member lifted the Speaker from his chair.

- One day session got up prematurely

Bangalore 15th December 2020 Tuesday

The one-day session of the Karnataka Legislative Council was wasted today due to a commotion.

The vice-president of the council and leader of the Janata Dal-Secular took over the chair of Congress president Pratap Chandra Shetty.

The scuffle took place during a debate in the House on a no-confidence motion against the government earlier tabled by BJP members.

The controversy also stalled the consideration of several other proposals, including one relating to Gauvadh.

Prakash Rathore, a Congress member of the Legislative Council, said that while the commotion was going on, BJP and JDS members got together and illegally made the Deputy Speaker of the House the Speaker. Everyone was upset when the Congress asked him to vacate the chair. The BJP was behaving unconstitutionally.
