If the farmers' movement is not resolved, it will affect national security too: Meeting between Punjab CM and Home Minister

New delhi date. 3 December 2020, Thursday

Amid the ongoing farmers' agitation in Delhi against the new agricultural laws, Punjab CM Capt Amarinder Singh today met Home Minister Amit Shah.

Punjab CM Capt Amarinder Singh has told Amit Shah that the standoff between the government and farmers needs to be resolved as soon as possible. "We want this dispute to be resolved soon. The impact of Punjab farmers' performance on the economy as well as national security," he said. We have told the Home Minister everything we had to say.

The Punjab CM said, "I have appealed for a way to protect the interests of both the government and the farmers. However, Captain Amarinder Singh refused to speak on the allegation leveled by the Akali Dal."

It may be mentioned that the agitation which is going on at present is being led by the farmers of Punjab. About 50 farmers' organizations of Punjab are currently sitting on the borders of Delhi. They are now slowly getting the support of farmers from other states. The captain has also announced compensation of Rs 5 lakh each to the farmers' families.
