Government allows Indian Army to stockpile ammunition for 15 days instead of 10 days

New Delhi, 13 December 2020, Sunday

Amid India's ongoing tensions with China and Pakistan, the central government has taken a major decision.

The central government has now authorized the Indian Army to stockpile enough ammunition for a 15-day war instead of 10 days. Using this authority, the Indian Army is going to spend Rs 50,000 crore on armaments in the coming days. The Indian government is said to be allowing the army to make preparations in view of the possibility of fighting on two fronts with China and Pakistan.

Earlier, the army was allowed to keep 40 days of stock, but due to the changing nature of the war and the problems with ammunition storage, the stock was reduced to 10 days. The three armies have been given emergency power of Rs 300 crore.

At present, India is facing tensions with both China and Pakistan. Under these circumstances, the three wings of the Indian Army are strengthening their preparations. India has also tested a number of missiles.
