Farmers ready to embarrass government internationally, write letter to British MPs to describe difficulties

- Stop your Prime Minister from coming on Republic Day

New Delhi Dated 23rd December 2020 Wednesday

Farmers, who have been protesting for nearly a month for the repeal of agricultural laws and have been blocking Delhi's borders, were now reportedly planning to embarrass the Modi government at the international level.

The farmers will write a letter to the British MPs describing their plight and asking the British Prime Minister not to attend the Republic Day celebrations in India. It may be recalled that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had extended an invitation to British Prime Minister Boris Johnson to be the chief guest on Republic Day 2021.

At the same time, the peasant movement will urge Indian nationals living abroad to protest against the Indian embassy in that country and describe our plight, saying that the Indian government was misleading the people about agricultural law. In India, home-grown farmers will go from village to village to present the disadvantages of the agricultural law to the people and thus create a referendum to force the central government to repeal the law.
