Elements misleading farmers to wake up: Modi

Today, the country is asking why small farmers who produce grains and pulses should not be given the freedom to distribute their produce in the market. : Modi

Bhuj, Ta. Tuesday, December 15, 2020

The amendments made by the Central Government to the agricultural laws for the welfare of small and marginal farmers of the country are not harmful but beneficial. Noting how many disruptive elements are trying to confuse farmers in Delhi today, the Prime Minister said, "Today the country is asking why small farmers producing cereals and pulses should not be given the freedom to distribute their produce in the market."

Opposition parties in the past have been in favor of the same reforms that our government has made in the agricultural bill for farmers. But he did nothing when his government was in power and today he has gone out to do politics with guns on the shoulders of farmers. He is confident that the conscious farmers of my country will give him jakaro, said the Prime Minister on the occasion of virtual foundation stone laying of three projects at Dhordo in Kutch.

"My government is always open to resolve any doubts in the minds of the farmers regarding the recent agrarian reforms," he said. The world's largest hybrid renewable energy park has been laid.

The park is to be spread over an area of 70,000 hectares, the size of countries like Singapore and Bahrain. The foundation stone of 3 projects of New Age Technology and New Age Energy has been laid in Kutch today which will usher in new dimensions in the development of Kutch. It will also benefit farmers and pastoralists.

Referring to today's auspicious coincidence, Modi added that 118 years ago today, an industrial exhibition was held in Ahmedabad and the main attraction was 'Bhanu Tap Yantra' and today, 118 years later, the foundation stone of 'Renewable Energy Park' is being laid in Kutch. It will generate 30,000 MW of energy.

Rs. With an investment of Rs 1.50 lakh crore, the park will set new directions for development. It will not only prevent the production of 50 million tonnes of carbon dioxide every year, but will also provide employment to more than 1 lakh people. He added that from an environmental point of view, the benefits of this plant would be equal to the benefits of planting 90 million trees.

India ranks fourth in the world in the field of renewable energy. Energy efficiency has increased 16 times in the last 6 years. India is leading the world in the fight against climate change.

Modi further added that Gujarat is the leading state in providing 24 hours power. The state has implemented the 'Surya Kisan Yojana' and is the first state in the country to formulate a solar energy policy. Water security is just as important for 21st century India as energy security. With the widening of the canal, the distribution of Narmada water reached 3 crore households.

He added that 80 per cent of the households in the state are covered under the 'Nal Se Jal' scheme and Gujarat's drive to take this achievement to 100 per cent in the near future is exemplary. The desalination plant laid today will also make 100 million liters of water drinkable. Besides, similar plants are also to be set up in Ghogha-Dahej-Dwarka-Gir Somnath, the Prime Minister said.

Today, with Sarhad Dairy becoming an automatic milk processing plant, in the near future, the dairy farmers will be able to process the milk produced at the dairy level, which will directly benefit the dairy farmers. Welcoming the Prime Minister, Chief Minister Vijaybhai Rupani said that the coordination of industry, trade and tourism in Kutch has set a new height of development in the last one and a half decades.

Referring to green energy, the Chief Minister said that Gujarat has achieved a generation capacity of 11,000 MW and has a production target of 30,000 MW of green energy by 2022, which includes wind energy and solar energy. Not only this, by implementing solar rooftop scheme in the state, 800 MW solar energy has been generated. Along with the first solar policy in the country, Surya Gujarat Yojana has also been launched.

Along with increasing the capacity of Charanka Solar Park in Patan district, construction of 1000 MW solar park in Dholera and 700 MW Radha NASDA solar park elsewhere will also be undertaken in the near future. In this way, Gujarat has also created a unique structure in the field of renewable energy. Today the world's largest high-tech renewable energy desalination plant and the automatic milk processing plant at Sarhad Dairy have been laid.

The Chief Minister said that the de-salination plant to be set up at Mandvi has the capacity to make 100 million liters of sea water potable every day. Apart from Mandvi, de-salination plants with a capacity of 100 million liters in Dahej, 70 million liters each in Dwarka and Ghogha and 30 million liters in Gir Somnath will be set up in the near future. As a result, 370 million liters of sea water per day will be made potable. Welcoming the ground breaking ceremony of the Renewable Energy Park, Energy Minister Saurabhbhai Patel said that in a short span of time, we have been able to achieve more than 36,000 MW of solar energy capacity in the country.

In 2002, Gujarat had a capacity of 149 MW of wind power, at which time renewable energy was the only source. Then Gujarat changed through investor solar policy by making more use of renewable energy and other states are following suit. This project for renewable energy is going to be set up in an area of 60 thousand hectares in Kutch district. He expressed confidence that this hybrid renewable power plant would give a new direction to Gujarat in the field of solar energy.

He said that when this 30 gigawatt power plant will be started. It will generate more than 60,000 million gallons of clean and green energy. Which will emit 60 million tons less carbon. Not only that, 40 million tons of coal will be saved and 25 thousand people will be employed annually. Along with Gujarat, other states will also get energy and other states will also get energy as well as help for employment to other industrial houses.
