Crisis of bread for 1800 families at Christmas, a by-product of the conflict between India and China

- General Motors' India plant closes

New Delhi Dated 21st December 2020 Monday

Ongoing tensions between India and China have adversely affected some international companies. General Motors' last plant in India was closing down.

It was reported that 1800 families would face the crisis of Rosario on the holy day of Christmas.

In fact, General Motors had contracted its own plant in India with the Great Wall Company, a major Chinese auto company. The Indian government had suspended compliance with the agreement due to tensions between India and China over China's move on the Ladakh border.

This was causing huge losses to General Motors. The General Motors plant in Talegaon, Maharashtra, which had been operating since 1966, was finally shutting down, leaving 1,800 employees working at the General Motors plant jobless and starving their families to death.
