Veteran Congress leader and former Union Minister Anand Sharma on Monday once again praised the Modi government. "India has greatly expanded its infrastructure in recent years and I wish the Center and the state government to work together for that," he said.

"The country has stood together in times of crisis, India has expanded its infrastructure and I congratulate the central and state governments for that as they worked together," he said. The country was in crisis at the time.

He further said that India was in a good position in the second quarter. The first quarter was the worst for the economy as it adversely affected GDP. "We hope that the balance of recovery will be maintained in the other two quarters as well," Sharma said.

Even before, Sharma has praised the Modi government

This is not the first time that former Union Minister and Congress leader Anand Sharma has praised the Modi government. Earlier in the day, Anand Sharma also lauded Prime Minister Narendra Modi's review of the state of vaccine readiness.

Anand Sharma was part of a group of 23 disgruntled Congress leaders who wrote a letter to party president Sonia Gandhi earlier this year. It called for a complete change of organization in Congress.
