Central government's big decision: Rs 18,000 crore will be deposited in the accounts of 9 crore farmers

New delhi date. 23 December 2020, Wednesday

The central government has taken a big decision amid the ongoing peasant agitation against the new agricultural law. The government will deposit Rs 18,000 crore in the accounts of 9 crore farmers. This was announced by Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar. He hoped that discussions would be held with the farmers and the stalemate would be resolved.

He said that the various schemes benefiting the farmers in the agricultural sector would ensure that they get a fair price. Even during the Corona epidemic we saw that there was no impact on farming and farming related works.

"I also thank the banks because during the epidemic, they brought in more than one crore farmers under Kisan credit card cover and gave Rs one lakh crore to farmers in the last eight months," Tomar said. We have made some improvements in the agricultural sector and for the convenience of the farmers and will continue to do so in the future.

He told the media that Rs 18,000 crore would be deposited in the accounts of 9 crore farmers in a virtual ceremony on December 25. Prime Minister Modi will be the chief guest at the event. By tomorrow evening, 2 crore farmers have registered for this online program.
