Canada again made a statement on the peasant movement, echoing India's opposition

- We will always raise our voice for human rights

New Delhi Dated 5th December 2020 Saturday

Irrespective of the protests made by India, the Prime Minister of Canada Justin Trudeau once again expressed his views on the ongoing peasant movement in India. "We will always fight for human rights and raise our voices," Trudeau said.

Twenty-four hours earlier, the Indian Foreign Ministry had summoned the Canadian ambassador to Delhi and handed over a letter protesting Justin Trudeau's statement on the peasant movement two or three days earlier. Yet once again Trudeau made a statement about the peasant movement.

"This is our (India's) internal affair," the foreign ministry said. It should not be interfered with. Failure to do so could seriously damage the friendly relations between India and Canada. On Friday, Trudeau reiterated that we will always support peaceful demonstrations around the world. We are happy with the steps taken by the Government of India to reduce tensions.

It is worth recalling here that Falelal Khalistani militant leaders who flourished in Punjab in the 1980s have migrated to Canada to seek arrest and legal action against them. Canada also has a large Sikh and Punjabi population, so Justin Trudeau is killing two birds with one stone. Pretends to be a farmer's ally on the one hand and protects Canada's own vote bank on the other.
