- It was claimed that the farmer is happy

New Delhi Dated 23rd December 2020 Wednesday

BJP's' poster farmer 'Harpreet Singh also joined the farmers' movement on the Delhi border. Harpreet Singh was portrayed as a happy farmer in a campaign poster showing that Punjab farmers are happy with the minimum support price set by the central government.

Now even that ‘cheerful farmer’ had joined the farmers agitating against the new agricultural law. He joined the farmers on the Indus border. When the poster was released, there was an uproar on social media. The Punjab BJP then canceled the poster.

When Harpreet Singh was asked by the media about the poster, he said that the Punjab BJP had used my photo for MSP's campaign without taking me into confidence or asking me. I am sitting with the farmers on the Singhu border. My photograph used by Punjab BJP is seven years old. Now the BJP used that photograph without asking me. Harpreet claimed that not a single farmer was happy with the new agricultural law. The BJP-led government has so far not come to the Singhu border or tried to find out why the farmers are upset.

"Even if the government says the law is in the interest of the farmers, we know it is a loss-making deal," said Harpreet Singh, a resident of Hoshiarpur in Punjab. We will not return home until our demand is accepted.
