Prime Minister Narendra Modi convened a meeting of his cabinet to take an important decision on the issue before starting the fifth round of talks during the ongoing peasant agitation in the capital New Delhi.

At the time of writing, a meeting with Home Minister Amit Shah, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh and others was about to begin. Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar and Piyush Goyal were also present at the talks.

Meanwhile. Kisan Mahapanchayat leader Rampal Jate said the government would have to withdraw all three laws and give us a written support for the Minimum Support Price (MSP). Nothing less consumes us.

On the other hand, some farmers' unions today announced the burning of a statue of Narendra Modi. This led to a slight increase in tension. A peasant leader also threatened that if talks with the government were not resolved, we would besiege the Parliament House.
