The demand for the selection of a Deputy Chief of Staff in the Indian Army was accepted in principle by the Ministry of Defense, keeping in mind the need for an important military operation.

A military spokesman said the formalities had been completed. He said the military officials felt that such a place was necessary for military intelligence, military operations and war strategy.

The Center on Friday approved the selection of the post by accepting the Army Headquarters' submission. This position will be known as the Director General of Information Warfare. Lieutenant General Paramjit Singh was recently appointed to the post. Paramjit Singh is currently the Director General of Military Operations.
