AIIMS nurses' union goes on indefinite strike, Director Dr Guleria urges, not now

- Our demands have been standing for a long time, says the nurse

New Delhi, 15 December 2020, Tuesday

The nurses' union working at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) was warned to go on indefinite strike. Dr. Randeep Guleria, Director, AIIMS, urged him not to take such a step now in the Corona era.

“Our demands have been standing for a long time,” the nurses union said. This has not been noticed by the administrators of AIIMS. Accept our demands or at least respond favorably. The union is set to go on strike from today. One of the demands of these people was to implement the recommendations of the Sixth Pay Commission.

Dr Guleria said it was unfortunate that the nurses' union had gone on strike just in time for the corona vaccine. I appeal to the nurses' union to return to work and cooperate with us in rescuing people from the Corona epidemic.

He said the nurses union had put 23 demands before us. We gave him proper reassurance about each of them. However, it is unfortunate that the people decided to go on indefinite strike in such a time of crisis.
