A thousand corona viruses from an infected person can infect others

Scientists took 750 samples from a significant Austrian Covid-19 spreading cluster and found that about a thousand infected viruses transmitted from one person to another. According to the study, this proportion is much higher than other viruses such as HIV and other viruses that cause gastroenteritis.

"However, we have at times found that an infected patient with fewer virus particles can become infected even if they come in contact with someone," said Andreas Bergthaler, lead author of the study and of the Austrian Academy of Sciences. Standards such as the application of the immune system to determine the transmission route also play a crucial role, ”said Bergthaler.

Researchers believe that a combination of measures such as oral and nasal protection, physical distance and proper indoor air circulation can reduce the virus load on an infected person.
