Longewala, Ta. 14. Saturday, November, 2020

PA Modi has chosen Longewala to celebrate Diwali with Jawano this time. The border with Pakistan is not far away.

Giving the reason behind choosing this place, PM Modi himself said that there was a battle on the Longewala border in 1971 and next year will mark its 50th anniversary. The bravery shown by India here has been discussed all over the world.

The battle of Longewala is considered one of the most dangerous battles in the world, as the entire Pakistani tank regiment attacked Longewala. The Indian Army did not have a single tank here against Pakistan's 40 tanks.

Major Kuldeep Singh Chandpuri led the 23rd Battalion of the Punjab Regiment stationed here in Longewala on 4 December. He faced the entire Pakistani tank regiment with only 120 men.

For this, the jawans had laid anti-tank mines. Due to which the Pakistani tanks had to be stopped. One tank was destroyed while passing through the mines. On the other hand, the jawans of Major Chandpuri blew up two tanks.

Pakistan did not want to wait till morning and landed tanks in the Thar Desert to advance. However, these tanks got stuck in the sand. On the other hand, Indian troops started firing at the tanks. A total of 12 tanks were destroyed that night. .

In the early hours of the morning, Indian Air Force fighter jets pounded the Pakistani army, causing panic. Pakistani troops abandoned tanks and vehicles and fled. About 100 Pakistani vehicles were found wrecked near Longewala post.
