- Police accused 27 people of inciting violence

Lucknow dated 4th November 2020 Wednesday

The Uttar Pradesh government had decided to confiscate the assets of protesters and protesters against the new Citizenship Act (CAA). The state government had issued notices to the houses of eight people accused of attempting to incite violence during the anti-law movement.

Lucknow police had registered a case of incitement of violence against a total of 27 people. These people set fire to the Satkhand police station. The eight have been booked under the Gangster Act and UAPA (Unlawful Activities Prevention Act) and have been declared absconding. The men were charged in March this year with inciting violence. A total of 27 people were charged.

Seven of them had sought anticipatory bail from a local court against their arrest. 11 were arrested and the remaining eight were on the run. "We will now go to court as per the rules of the CRPC (Criminal Procedure Code) and get the right to seize the property and confiscate their property," a police official said.
