The operation was carried out near the LOC in Kupwara district of north Kashmir. Tragic reports have been received that three jawans have been killed in the operation. The jawans include two Indian Army and one BSF jawan.

Pakistan tried to infiltrate the area on Saturday night. The operation was launched after the army was informed and two infiltrators were shot dead. The bodies of the two terrorists have also been recovered. One AK rifle and two bags were also recovered during the operation.

The operation is still ongoing in the area, according to details obtained.

Security officials say that with the onset of winter comes snowfall. In these circumstances, the likelihood of infiltration is reduced. Thus, infiltration efforts have increased in Pakistan before the winter freezes.
