The third phase of polling began in Bihar, with tight security in place

- Two crore 34 lakh voters will cast their votes for 78 seats today

Patna 7th November 2020 Saturday

Voting for the third phase of the Bihar Assembly elections began this morning amid tight security. Voting is taking place today for the last 78 seats of the 243-seat Bihar Assembly.

A total of 1204 candidates are in the fray, including twelve ministers from the current government. However, the real battle is between the NDA and the grand coalition. On behalf of the NDA, 29 top BJP leaders campaigned here. However, the current Chief Minister Nitish Kumar is a bit awkward this time. For Nitish Kumar, who has been in power for the last 15 years, public sentiment has changed. RJD's Tejaswi Yadav did the most. However, as Lalu Yadav was not granted bail at the last minute, it was not possible for him to get out of jail before the election results, so frustration spread among the Lalu family and the RJD.

The 78 seats that are being polled today are divided into fifteen districts. A total of 2 crore 34 lakh voters will cast their votes today. In addition to the assembly, there is also a by-election to the Valmiki seat of parliament today. The by-election came in the wake of the untimely death of JD (U) MP Vaidyanath Mehto. JD (U) had given the ticket to Mahto's son Sunil Kumar. Like Valmiki Nagar, all the 78 seats that are being polled today are located in North Bihar and north of the river Ganga in the state, some in Kosi-Seemanchal Pradesh.
