Saifullah, top Hizbul Mujahideen commander shot dead, 1 other terrorist arrested

Saifullah, a top commander of Hizbul Mujahideen and an A ++ category terrorist, has been killed in a joint operation by the Indian Army, Jammu and Kashmir Police and CRPF in Srinagar, the capital of Jammu and Kashmir. The clash took place in Rangareth area of ​​Srinagar, after which the army has deployed a large number of troops here. But the Jammu and Kashmir police and army have not issued an official statement on Saifullah's death and his identity.

According to information received, the Jammu and Kashmir Police and Army had received information that two top Hezbollah terrorists were hiding in the Rangareth area of ​​Srinagar. Based on the inputs, Army National Rifles, SOG of Jammu and Kashmir Police and CRPF personnel launched a joint operation here. During the initial encounter, the rioters staged a violent demonstration here and tried to disrupt the operation. In response, the CRPF fired tear gas and chased everyone away.

According to Jammu and Kashmir DGP Dilbag Singh, Saifullah was behind the killing of three Bharatiya Janata Party workers a few days back. The army has killed the BJP leaders within 72 hours, and shot him dead.

The terrorists were also asked to surrender during the Rangarath operation. So the terrorists opened fire and tried to escape the violent demonstration. But the army retaliated by killing Saifullah alias Ghazi Haider, a top Hezbollah commander here. "We have killed a commander named Saifullah in the operation," Jammu and Kashmir Police IG Vijay Kumar said. He is currently being identified but is 95 per cent determined to be Saifullah. Apart from this a suspected terrorist has been arrested.

Dr. Saifullah alias Ghazi Haider is a native of Mangalpora area of ​​Pulwama. He was plotting terror in Kashmir at the behest of Hezbollah chief Syed Salahuddin. After the death of Riaz Naiku, Saifullah took over the reins of Hezbollah in Kashmir. Apart from this he was involved in several incidents of arms robbery, IED attack and terror attack on the convoy of security forces in the east.
